Rev. Dr. Colleen Birchett: The description of Jabez in 1 Chronicles..4:10.. reveals very little about him. It tells us that he was the son of Leah, and that his name reflects her personal pain. It is only through examining other Scriptures that we learn about the trauma into which he was born.
